The Initiative: A Vermont Waldorf High School is an Approved Independent School by the state of Vermont and a Developing School member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. We opened in September 2013 to a 9th and 10th grade and will graduate our first seniors in 2016.  Based on the educational ideas of Rudolf Steiner, we wish to create, nurture, and maintain a healthy, thriving and affordable secondary education program out of an anthroposophically based picture of the threefold human being (body, soul and spirit).

  1. We are in the process of moving from the Brattleboro area to be closer to Orchard Valley. Is there a consensus as to the location of the high school long-term? I’d hate to move and then be super far from where the HS ultimately locates!

  2. Hi Mark,

The Central VT High School initiative is planning to rent space from Goddard College in Plainfield, VT. It’s very close to Orchard Valley. While this space has not been finalized yet, we should know soon as we are planning for a grade 9 class in the fall. Good luck with relocating!
